Former Anglo-Chinese School principal Dr Ong Teck Chin, 61, has been found to have behaved inappropriately towards a male teacher, Mark Richie Tan. Mr Tan had lodge a complaint to the school’s board and it was successful.
Although the principle has been found to be behaved inappropriately, I feel that Mr Tan should not lodge a complaint because every man has its ego and pride. Mr Tan should have settled this matter with Mr Ong privately so that Mr Ong’s reputation could be saved. After this complaint had been lodged, I am sure that this matter will surely affect the school reputation. And this shows that Mr Tan did not think wisely before lodging a complaint.
After an act of impulse, Mr Ong felt remorseful and had already apologised. Not only that, he had been announced to resigned after a six months notice and this may affects his income. Congratulations to Mr Tan who get back his resignation letter and had been promoted! One benefits and the other suffered. After all, it’s just like an eye to an eye. I just hope that after this incident, anyone who came across this situation should think wisely before lodging a complaint as to refrain from affecting the school’s reputation.
